As part of its commitment to emerging contemporary creation, Rubis Mécénat is supporting the professionalisation of young artists from the Beaux-Arts de Paris for the sixth consecutive year. Each year, the Rubis Mécénat Prize enables the laureate artist to conceive and produce a work for the church of Saint-Eustache and to benefit from the critical support of an exhibition curator.

A graduate of the École nationale des beaux-arts de Paris in 2026, Rémi Marcel imagines installations that maintain a close relationship with the living world, where everything is material. His artistic approach is steeped in his initial training as a cook and pastry chef, and in his interest in farming practices. He works in particular with seeds, plants and vegetables, which become elements of connection through drawing, sculpture, installation and poetic writing.

For the Rubis Mécénat Prize, he presents an installation exhibited at the church of Saint-Eustache from 6 October to 29 November 2026, with the support of exhibition curator Oulimata Gueye.

Rémi Marcel

Rémi Marcel was born in 2002 in Charente. After training as a cook and then a pastry chef, he changed course to join the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he became part of Tatiana Trouvé's studio. There he developed an installation practice in which food becomes a material in its own right. Cooking becomes for him an aesthetic means, allowing him to create living devices that reflect cyclical processes. Rémi Marcel reveals active environments in which the audience becomes a participant. He considers himself a walker — creating from what surrounds him is essential. He seeks to immerse himself in places and to root himself within them in order to better inhabit them. His creative process is part of a way of life, a way of being in the world that does not place his different life experiences in any hierarchy. Everything contributes to one and the same artistic project, where forms emerge from simple, situated actions.
