INPULSE – JAMAICA A look back at Katrina Coombs (@duchesskcfibres)’s latest workshop at the @nationalgalleryofjamaica with @inpulseartproject! Titled “Compassing the Sacred Self”, the fiber art workshop was held for @eveforlifeja’s beneficiaries. Through the tactile practice of felting and the use of ancestral symbols, participants were invited into a creative and healing space to explore personal and collective narratives, reconnect with cultural roots, and give form to stories through tactile art. The workshop centred storytelling and identity, offering a culturally sensitive environment where fiber art served as a meditative, non-verbal language for self-expression and empowerment. #rubismecenat #inpulse

SUPPORT FOR ARTISTIC CREATION – GRANT FOR FRENCH CARIBBEAN AND AMAZONIAN CONTEMPORARY CREATION This week-end, discover @taniaarancia’s series Tentatives de résurgences at unRepresented by @approcheparis (until April 12). Tania Arancia’s practice combines textile work and an intimate relationship with photography and family archives. She collects images from family archives, often modest and fragile, which become the starting point for a process of translation and transposition, where memories are recomposed into textile pieces. In her series, nostalgia is not seen as a retreat but as a movement of appeasement, a way of revisiting a perhaps idealized past while acknowledging the complexity of the present. The image seems to emerge and then disappear, like a fragile memory that hesitates between appearance and erasure. Tentatives de résurgence demonstrates how a personal archive can become the site of poetic reconstruction. Memory is literally woven into it: each thread, each cyanotype trace, each fragment of photography paves the way for a resurgence. INPULSE – JAMAICA In Jamaica, the exploration of expression through mural painting continues with @united_for_jamaica! Led by artists and InPulse mentors, @onejhar_ and @camillechedda, the workshop invited participants to reflect on the role of women in Jamaica and beyond. Through discussion, drawing and painting, their ideas are taking shape in a collective mural celebrating strenght, resilience and identity. Created together with the children involved in the project, the mural will be displayed on one of the United for Jamaica foundation’s interior walls, continuing a collaborative work developed with the Rockfort community in Kingston. #rubismecenat #inpulse

NDAO HANAVAO - MADAGASCAR Last month, guest designer @alexandreechasseriau completed his final workshop at @ndaohanavaoproject. Since 2019, Ndao Hanavao has collaborated with the French designer on the collection and transformation of plastic waste in Antananarivo. In developing new processes at the lab, he has given recyled plastic a new lease of life, transforming it into functional and durable creations designed to be locally produced and adapted to the region’s specific needs. Through this research, he has trained young beneficiaries of the programme in sustainable design, equipping them with valuable tools for their future professional paths. To mark the closing chapter of this project, Rubis Mécénat has published a book retracing the key stages and developments of this seven-year research. A public presentation was also held at @fondationh_, with @alexandreechasseriau and project manager @domisanji to present the work carried out at ndaohanavao and their collaboration with the Foundation on ‘Mamitrika’, developed with @rartplast. NDAO HANAVAO - MADAGASCAR At the @ndaohanavaoproject lab, 2026 began with @samueltomatis’ workshop! Since 2022, @samueltomatis has been developing a project with @ndaohanavaoprojet to collect and process invasive algae in Madagascar, turning waste into paper. Building on the development of seaweed paper created at the lab, the designer and beneficiaries experimented with packaging prototypes, exploring the potential of this innovative and sustainable material. #rubismecenat #ndaohanavao #socialdesign #sustainabledesign #samueltomatis
